Founder's Story - The Story Behind AHRE

When Allie Hall first sat down behind a steno machine, she had no idea it would become a lifelong calling.

Over the next 27 years, court reporting would take her through courtrooms, depositions, competitions, and leadership roles within the profession. She earned some of the highest certifications in the field and received recognition for her contributions to the legal community.

But the moment that truly changed the direction of her career didn’t happen in a courtroom. It didn’t happen in a conference room.  It happened in a classroom.

While teaching her first NCRA Discover Steno program, Allie watched a student suddenly “get it.” The machine clicked. The rhythm made sense. The student’s face lit up with that unmistakable moment of realization.  That light bulb moment changed everything.  Allie realized that helping someone discover their potential as a court reporter was just as meaningful as practicing the profession itself.

Over time, students and reporters started looking to her for help with writing efficiency, focused practice, advanced certifications, and navigating the difficult middle stages of speed building. Word spread. Referrals came in from colleagues, friends, and former students.  What started as mentorship evolved into something bigger.

AHRE was created to give students the kind of training and support Allie believes every future court reporter deserves: individualized attention, focused coaching, and a mindset built for success.

Allie knows firsthand that court reporting school is demanding. Progress isn’t always linear. Confidence can rise and fall. That’s why AHRE focuses not only on technical skill, but also on mental resilience, focus, and forward momentum.  Because success in this profession isn’t just about writing fast.  It’s about learning how to keep going.

Today, Allie continues to coach students, mentor reporters, teach seminars, and compete at the national level while helping guide the next generation of professionals into a career that is both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Her mission is simple:

  • Help students discover their full potential.
  • Train skilled court reporters.
  • Build confident professionals.
